Interview with STANDART ARCHITEKCI

What made you decide to become a designer?

The desire to change the environment to a modern, more friendly one. Can you tell us more about your design background? 1999 – University of Tennessee College of Architecture + Design

2001 – completed studies at the Politechnika Krakowska

1999 – William F O’neill Architects New York City

2001 – 2004 Hagele & O’neill Architects New York City

2004 – Martin Kravitt Architects & Planners Katonah New York

from 2004 – co-owner AT Architekci

from 2020 – co-owner Standart Architekci

How do you stay inspired and keep coming up with creative ideas? The inspiration for my work is modern architecture created by the best architects in the world, including one of my favorites, Richard Meier.

What does good design mean to you? Simple clean forms with functionality of use.

What is the most challenging thing in your profession? Arrangements with authorities.

Please, explain the best project you are most proud of and why. I am proud of several projects, including the project of the Hyatt Place hotel in Krakow, which won an award, however, the project at ul. Złota in Krakow is one of the most important for me. This project most closely resembles my favorite architecture created by Richard Meier.


What is your biggest design career moment? How does this milestone impact your career? This year I received 2 international design awards. I hope this helps in further development. How do you learn and grow your knowledge and design skills? I travel a lot, visiting new projects, and I follow modern architecture on the Internet.

What would you say will be future of design? I hope it will not belong to artificial intelligence. What are your career plans for the future? Development of the studio.
