Winner: Large workspace interior of the year 2022. M Moser Associates has designed the Dyson Global HQ St James Power Station in Singapore.
This project was for Dyson, a global technology company that required a campus to help generate a new chapter of business growth – a dynamic work atmosphere to facilitate communication and collaboration between various pillars of the business, including R&D, prototyping, design and operations.
Having an inviting central space for congregating and socialising aligned with Dyson's goals of constant learning, experimentation and innovation.
Established a century ago, St James Power station is the site of many engineering firsts. The legacy of innovation continues today as Dyson has reinvented this historic national monument into its new global HQ.
People and ideas power future growth in a space designed to support Dyson's culture of innovation. An emphasis on people-first architecture ensured a sustainably produced holistic work environment for the outcome of this project.
Judges comments: "This was a very tough category with very strong entries. We were pleasantly surprised that Dyson, a bleeding-edge company in innovation and technology, have opted for a refurbishment rather than a new build. We were impressed with how they took an old shell and modernised it."
