The clients hoped that the interior space can be divided into separate spaces for different departments. Considering the needs and job function of each department, the separated office rooms were created. Taking Tadao Ando’s design principles as a starting point for construction, the designer laid particular stress on horizontality, verticality, right angle, and visual symmetry. By flattening surfaces, the designer prevented uneven wall surfaces and the seams that may result when placing storage cabinets. Lightweight partition wall constructions were utilized, and in order to avoid outside corner damages that caused when carrying items, metal edge trims were installed while construction. With edge details, line segmentation, and the technique for making the complex simple, office rooms were separated for each department, and the operational efficiency was increased through improving traffic flow in office.
By deeply understanding characteristics of the building materials, the designer utilized glossy cement boards and gypsum boards to build lightweight partition wall, which created natural texture and effect similar to fair-faced concrete.
